The azimuth Thruster is a Z-type drive system. Its primary function is to transmit the power generated by a diesel engine to the propeller, which generates thrust. This power transmission occurs through a series of components including highly flexible coupling, clutch, universal shaft, intermediate shaft assemblies, and two pairs of spiral bevel gears located within the upper and lower gearboxes of the Azimuth thruster. Simultaneously, commands are sent to an electro-hydraulic control system to maneuver the lower gearbox housing the propeller, allowing it to rotate freely and without restriction to the left or right. Consequently, the full thrust of the propeller can be directed to any orientation, achieving optimal coordination between propulsion and thrust direction.
Primary Vessel Types: Tugboats, firefighting vessels, offshore vessels, transport ships, passenger ships, etc.
We provides comprehensive solutions for clients, including the rudder propeller unit, diesel engines/electric motors, frequency converters, shafting systems, remote control systems, and more.
